You can name a fund after yourself, your family, your business, or in memory of someone who mattered. Every grant made from it carries that name, this year and every year that follows.
Your fund can support:
A specific charity
A cause you care about, like education, health, environment, or the arts
Wherever the need is greatest, year to year
You can open a named fund with $10,000. If that's more than you'd like to give at once, you're welcome to start with $5,000 and contribute the rest over the following two years.
For funds where you'd like to stay involved in choosing which charities receive grants each year, the minimum contribution is $50,000.
The most flexible option. Your fund supports whatever the community needs most that year, across arts and culture, education, environment, health and welfare, and sports and recreation. Our grants committee makes informed choices year to year, responding to the changing needs of our community.
Stay involved in how your fund gives back. Each year, you suggest which charities and causes should receive grants; our board reviews and approves the distributions. Requires a starting balance of $50,000.
Direct your fund to one or more charities you care about. Whether it's a senior centre, a food bank, a museum, or another local nonprofit, you name the recipients when you start the fund and our directors handle the annual distribution.
Designed for local charities looking to build their own permanent endowment. You raise the funds; we handle the investment, administration, and reporting so you can focus on your mission. Funds can be set up by the charity itself, through a major gift from a donor, or through a fund-building campaign.
Any of the fund types above can be established through your will or estate. If you'd like to plan for a fund that begins after your lifetime, we can help you think it through as part of your overall giving plan.
