Our volunteer board sets the direction, safeguards the funds entrusted to us, and ensures every dollar works as hard as possible for our communities. We're grateful for their time, judgment, and dedication.
Tom grew up in Rossland and spent 35 years serving with the RCMP across Saskatchewan and Alberta before retiring in 2017. He and his wife, Dianne, now call Trail home. Between skiing and golf, Tom spends much of the summer at Christina Lake, and the two of them make the most of the shoulder seasons with travel. They have two children and one grandchild.
Jody has called Rossland home her whole life, raising three sons there with her husband. She spent her career as a registered nurse in mental health and substance use before moving into management, quality improvement, and patient safety. Since retiring in 2019, Jody has stayed active in the community: she volunteers with Le Roi Community Foundation, is a past Vice President and member of the Rossland Lions Club, and a past member of the Rossland Legion Auxiliary. Outside of volunteering, she enjoys gardening, preserving food for winter, cooking, skiing, knitting, and lately, learning to ride an e-bike.
Juris has lived in the community since 1987 and spent 30 years as an extractive metallurgist with Teck's research facility before retiring. Born in Canada and raised and educated in the UK, he also worked in South Africa, giving him the chance to see much of the world along the way. Juris is a member and past president of the Waneta Sunshine Rotary, and previously served on the board of the Trail Association of Community Living, including as chair. These days he's developed a fondness for armchair philosophy, especially puzzling over how the universe works.

Lina is a Trail native of Italian heritage who loves meeting new people and sharing what makes this area special. She has served as secretary of the SMS Italo Canadese for more than ten years, and her community involvement runs deep: coaching track and field across the Greater Trail area, helping with Trail Silver City Days from the Sidewalk Café to the Fun Run, sitting on the organizing committee for the Rick Hansen Anniversary Relay, taking part in every BC Games held locally, and officiating at numerous track meets.
Heather chairs the Grants Committee and is also involved with the Marketing and Nominating Committees. She retired from her role as Deputy District Registrar with Court Services in Rossland, where she worked on community issues for 17 years. Born and raised in the Trail/Rossland area, she has volunteered with organizations including United Way, Golden City Days, the Bear Smart Task Force, and Visions for Small Schools, and has a strong sense of what the community needs, especially now that a second generation of Brandvolds is calling it home. When she's not volunteering, Heather enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, yoga, qigong, gardening, reading, and adventures with her standard poodle, Loki, alongside Doug, her partner of 38 years.
Born and raised in Warfield, Lynn comes from a multi-generational Kootenay family and feels a deep connection to this region. She retired after a long and rewarding career with Interior Health and now spends her time with her husband, their three adult children, and two grandchildren. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Lynn stays active both personally and within the broader community, and has been involved with many volunteer initiatives, non-profits, and boards over the years. She is grateful to live where she does and values giving back to a community that has given her so much.
Steve was raised in Trail, lived in several BC communities over the years, and raised his own children in Rossland with his wife, Sharon, before returning there for retirement. His career centred on environmental management and community relations across government, consulting, and industry, including 20 years with Teck Resources in Trail and Vancouver. He has a long history of community service through committee and board work, along with organizing and officiating events such as the BC Winter Games, the 2010 Winter Olympics, Red Mountain Racers, the Nature Conservancy of Canada, and the Trail Area Health and Environment Committee.
Sam lives in Rossland with three children and one grandchild. He enjoys tennis, skiing, and tinkering with anything digital. Earlier in life, Sam was a soccer referee, coach, and scout leader, and volunteered at many community events.
Debbie has been an active part of the community throughout her career, spending 37 years in the dental field before retiring a decade ago. She and her husband, Glenn, raised a son and two daughters, staying involved in everything from arts to sports to education along the way. Married 50 years, Debbie and Glenn now enjoy traveling, skiing, golfing, hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with their grandchildren.
Kathy is newly retired after a rewarding 30-year career as an occupational therapist. She loves the outdoors from her home in Rossland, whether that's Nordic skis in winter or a road bike in summer. These days she's focused on learning new skills simply for the fun of it, and she and her husband love to travel, especially to great cycling destinations.
